As part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of McDonald’s operating in the UK, K Foley LTD was visited by James Wild, MP for North West Norfolk.
The team at the Lynn High Street restaurant was delighted to have James join them on a shift, showing him how it’s done in a McDonald’s kitchen.
Just like any trainee would be, James was kitted out in an apron hat and a trainee name badge and CEO Kevin Foley put him through his paces.
The visit was a good chance for the High Street team to showcase their talents and why their work is important to the communities we serve.
Kevin was keen to highlight the hard work of his employees and chat to James about the importance of government championing local businesses and workers.
During the visit, Crew Member Holly showed James how to make a Big Mac, including the vital step of adding the ‘secret sauce’.
Kevin was proud to give James the stats that K Foley LTD now employs 310 local people and serves 30,000 people per week across its three King’s Lynn restaurants.
Speaking after the visit, James Wild MP said:
“This year is a significant milestone for McDonald’s and it was great to join the team in Lynn to celebrate it with the perhaps the most famous burger in the world – the Big Mac. It was also a chance to talk about apprenticeships and how McDonald’s can potentially support community projects as part of its role as a significant local employer.”
CEO Kevin Foley said:
“K Foley LTD was delighted to welcome James Wild into the King’s Lynn store. As a local employer, it’s important to highlight the vital role businesses like ours play in the community. Links with business and government should be upheld to ensure strong awareness of the hard work taking place across Norfolk day in day out.
“It was also great to talk to James about our Apprenticeship Programme and our employment of 310 local people, rising to 350 towards the summer with the offer of guaranteed hours as well as flexible contracts.
“We were very happy to give James special permission to make a Big Mac in our kitchen and give him a flavour of the positive culture within the K Foley McDonald’s franchise.”
