A local business owner is gearing up to take part in an epic road adventure to raise funds for Norwich City Football Club’s Community Sports Foundation.
Kevin Foley, who owns ten branches of McDonald’s across Norfolk, is taking part in the Canaryball Rally, which will see him and 23 other teams setting off from Norwich and making their way to the Scottish Highlands.
The challenge will take the drivers across the route of Scotland’s stunning North Coast 500 covering 516 miles of jaw dropping Scottish coastline, through towering mountains, scenic lochs and sprawling beaches.
The teams are requested to raise a minimum of £2,500 per car for the Community Sports Foundation and will be tasked with a host of challenges along the way.
Fran Brown, Marketing Manager at Credo Finance, which first launched the charity event in 2019 said:
“This is an incredible event which raises much-needed funds for the foundation. Last time we headed off to Europe but this time we’re staying in the UK with amazing scenery and fun challenges along the way, including an exciting scavenger hunt and spot prizes that will help the teams to earn points and ultimately the coveted Canaryball Rally trophy.
“We’re really proud of this event. In 2019 it raised £75,000 so we’re thrilled to be setting off again this year.”
The teams will buckle up to leave on April 19th and Kevin will be joined by teammate, Ken Venables, who also owns local franchise business Signs Express.
Kevin said: “I’m really proud to be taking part in the Canaryball Rally. The funds are vital for the Community Sports Foundation at Norwich City FC which does such important work to make sport accessible to people with disabilities and to give those who are disadvantaged the opportunity to be more involved in sport too.
“So far, my team has raised £2200 and we’re hoping for much more. We’re really grateful to have been sponsored by eight very generous local businesses so far and would encourage anyone to support us if they can.
“This charity works so hard for the communities we are all part of, so it’s good to be able to give something back.”
Kevin and Ken will be driving a 2017 McLaren 720S which will be wrapped with the logos of some of those who have sponsored the team for this epic fundraising adventure.
The 2022 Rally is now full but any business interested in supporting through sponsorship can do so by contacting Fran Brown at Credo Asset Finance fran@credoassetfinance.com 01603 703180.
